  • Prince of Orange is a relatively new plant hybrid, having been first introduced in 2016. It is a cross between several Philodendron varieties. This particular hybrid has been selectively bred to cultivate distinctive color-changing foliage.

As its name suggests, this plant's leaves start with a vibrant shade of orange and then mature into a lush and vibrant green, creating a captivating color transition. The leaves of the Philodendron Prince of Orange are heart-shaped with a slightly ruffled texture. This plant is a relatively compact grower, making it a great choice for homes with limited space. Its manageable size allows you to incorporate a touch of tropical beauty even in smaller rooms.

Philodendron Prince of Orange is a relatively fast-growing plant and can reach heights of up to 2 feet. It is a popular houseplant because it is easy to care for, relatively pest- and disease-resistant, and can tolerate a variety of indoor conditions, making it a wonderful choice for both beginners and seasoned plant enthusiasts.

Philodendron Prince of Orange serves as an excellent air-purifying houseplant, renowned for its capacity to efficiently eliminate toxins and contaminants from the air, thus promoting a healthier and more breathable indoor atmosphere.

  • This plant is versatile when it comes to lighting, but it is recommended to provide your Philodendron Prince of Orange with bright, indirect sunlight. While it can tolerate lower light conditions, prolonged periods in low lighting can make this plant lose its vibrant colors. Avoid direct sun, as it can scorch the leaves.

Keep the soil evenly moist but not soggy. Water when the top inch of the soil feels dry to the touch. Be cautious not to overwater, as this plant is sensitive to sitting in waterlogged soil.

Use a well-draining potting mix suitable for aroids or tropical plants. A mix that includes peat or coir, perlite, and pine bark is ideal.

This plant can adapt to most typical indoor environments with temperatures ranging from 65°F to 80°F. Avoid exposing it to temperatures below 50°F or sudden temperature fluctuations. It needs moderate humidity levels (about 40-50% or higher). If you live in a dry environment, consider using a humidifier, misting the plant occasionally, or using a humidity tray to maintain adequate moisture.

Feed your plant with a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer during the growing season (spring and summer) about once a month. Reduce or cease fertilization during the dormant winter months.

Keep in mind that the Philodendron Prince of Orange, like many Philodendron species, contains insoluble calcium oxalate crystals, which can cause irritation if ingested or if they come into contact with the skin. Be cautious and keep it out of reach of pets and small children.

When you purchase online, your plants have to go through lots of stress while traveling so they may need a few days to adjust to their new environment and thrive. If your plant does not perk back up after a few days of care, let us know and we will send replacements free of charge. Remember that we always try our best to accommodate you.
  • It’s advised that you should repot the plant as soon as you get it. After repotting, your new houseplant will most likely struggle with transplant shock. It may appear droopy, faded, or have a slower growth rate than usual during this time. This is completely normal, and it’s also normal for transplant shock to hit especially hard after repotting a brand-new houseplant. To make sure your plant has plenty of time to adjust to its new surroundings, wait a day after potting and water your plant. Make sure any excess water drains completely from the pot afterward. Monitor your soil’s moisture levels daily to start creating a watering routine. To help perk up your new houseplant, we recommend adding a little water-soluble fertilizer, compost, or sugar water to your soil to boost its nutrients and help it grow.
